A River Runs through FAR

“Daddy, I want to go fishing!” Have we heard that a time or two or three or four………..

A little slice of the the Yellowstone runs through the north side of the ranch. Kiddos are finally getting big enough to not jump right in.

The fall colors are amazing and believe it or not so is the October weather in Montana.

Pink fishing poles ready to go. Daddy is not impressed with these so looks like we can add blue (our new favorite color) fishing poles to Christmas lists.

Getting the hang of it.

I could spend all day soaking up the sun and the view.

The Ranch Princesses’ highly anticipated first fish. Yay!

Posing with a kid-size trophy fish. Pepper is as into fishing as the girls.

Beautiful day, good time had by all. To top if off  no one saw a snake and no one went in the drink. Yahoo!

Q is too busy throwing rocks to fish.

Saw your RFDTV story and that your family came from N.C. I’m from Vale, N.C. which is just east of the Smokey Mts. Having been into horses for 55 years I’ve helped a lot of people learn all that I could share with them.

One of those friends (10years) my senior wanted me to go to Montana on a cattle drive with him as moral support. I thought city slickers here I come. We signed up for the Roundup Montana Drive and once they realized I could ride and and handle cattle they put me to work on a good horse and life was good. I went back for the next nine years as part of the crew and have many good memories.

My wife has never spent any time in Montana and we are going to travel west in May and June for several weeks. I’m always looking for places to visit and new friends to meet. I would like if we could visit your outfitt on our trip? I realize this is would be a busy time and if it’s not a good time I would understand respectively.

(I’ve actually been to Sweet Grass for the Sunday afternoon dance)
